Blog 1 - Senior Final Lesson/Interview Reflection

1.  What three lessons were most helpful for you to see, and why?
  • What makes or breaks a presentation. For several presentations I saw several became rather too word heavy so learning to keep people's attention and interest is important.
  • The activity matters just as much as the actual presentation so good activities help in a presentation.
  • It is also important to keep track of time in order to keep a steady tempo.
2. List one thing that you learned about the senior project in interviews that will help you get off to a good start?
  • One thing that I feel would help me get off to a good start for the senior project is that I can should find easy yet accessible lessons for my mentorship and/or individual component.
3. What topic(s) are you considering, and why?
  • I am considering child care for my senior project. The reason for this is even though I don't want children of my own I would like to help the children of others who may not be able to have the support they need/want.
4. What EQ do you think might be interesting to consider in guiding a project like this? (Please don't worry about any sort of formula...we want this question to come from your genuine interest).
  • What is the best way to assist someone with caring for a while?
  • How can someone help care for a child while maintaining a calm and parental authority?
5. What are some ideas you have about finding summer mentorship?
  • I've been able to assist a neighbor with watching for her child while she goes to work through the day till the evening. Other places I've been hoping to assist is at an elementary school as I know some offer after-school care, or at day-cares.
